Lower Queen Anne- It doesn't get any more "Seattle" than living in the backyard of the Space Needle! Largely because of its proximity to Seattle Center, Lower Queen Anne is home to some 100 restaurants, bars, and fast-food locations, such as Pagliacci Pizza, Dick's Drive In, & The Mecca Cafe. Nestled on the side streets amongst the apartment and condo communities are an array of retail shops such as Choice Linens, Juniper Flowers and Peridot.Lower QA is a great place for first apartments: it is near downtown, but residential enough to make you feel at home.Tower records and Experience Music Project are in the vicinity, as well as all the events hosted at Key Arena. There are also parks, lots of green space and exquisite Puget Sound views. The neighborhood has a young, artistic vibe, with lots of affordable studios in the vicinity. There are also major several major bus lines that pass through the area, not to mention the Seattle Monorail, which takes you right downtown.

Ballard is one of Seattle's most eclectic and unique neighborhoods. In recent times Ballard has added venues for live music, including bars, restaurants and coffee shops, such as Conor Byrne, Egan's Jam House, Fu Kun Wu @ Thaiku, Kiss Cafe, and La Isla. There is a movie theatre, a rock climbing wall, and beautiful views of Shilshole Bay at Golden Gardens, where young people flock to the beach. This is a neighborhood with a great mix of people: a lot of families. Ballard is also considered a great spot for singles. There is a real sense of community in Ballard which you can feel when you go there. It is a great place to live particularly for those who are creative and can add to Ballard's articstic community.

First Hill rose to popularity in the 1890s as a location close enough to downtown for convenience, but far enough out to offer a sense of retreat for the wealthier residents of Seattle. Today First Hill is the hip and trendy neighborhood for Seattle's "artistes." In First Hill you'll find cheaper rents, better apartments, less noise, and less crime. Public transportation is easily accessed through this hospital neighborhood. It is a step away from downtown, which is fun when you're young and want to be in the thick of things. There are lots of dog friendly apartments in this area, and Freeway Park has nice open green spaces; great for walking and picnicking.

West Seattle is a great place to live. The heart of West Seattle is the intersection of California Avenue S.W. and S.W. Alaska Street, called "The Junction" or "Alaska Junction," the center of a lively business district. It is relaxed, beautiful, and perfect for those that aren't necessarily into big cities. Among the area's attractions are its saltwater beach parks along Puget Sound and Elliot Bay, including Alki Beach and Lincoln Park among others. The area is also prized for its magnificent views of Cascade Range to the east and the Olympic Mountains to the west. You'll find a lot of relaxed younger people here, and Alki Beach is a coveted spot in the summer. The rents over in West Seattle also get you more for your money.

Freemont is a neighborhood in Seattle situated along the Fremont Cut of the Lake Washington Ship Canal to the north of Queen Anne, and east of Ballard.
