Rent Jungle Press Releases

Posted February 12, 2011

Rent Jungle today has expanded its industry-first housing search engine for use in the U.S. and Canada, allowing apartment hunters to search using fetching and indexing technologies previously unveiled in 2010 for the US market. Canadian users can expect the largest aggregation of listings and a map based apartment search function, and can soon expect rental statistic data for cities and neighborhoods.

The apartment and rental housing industry has been slow to develop new technologies, making this true apartment search engine exclusive and unique to its class. The result is the most complete collection of currently-available rental housing listings, capturing well over 80% of all online listings. “There has been nothing of the sort in this market,” said CEO Jon Pastor, “and upon reflection of the current rental industry, it does not seem unanticipated that Rent Jungle will be the first to share housing search engine technology with a Canadian audience.”

Similar to most search engines, Rent Jungle allows users to search for specific keywords including bedroom and bathroom count, amenities, price and location. The search engine’s rental statistics also grant a view into current rental trends based on market pricing nationally, by city, and by individual neighborhoods. Rent Jungle’s searching technology can be used as a rental comparison tool allowing users to compare neighborhood rental trends to best match their housing and budget needs- a function new to the rental and housing industry.

Rent Jungle’s housing search engine technology now spans across the U.S. and Canada, and hosts an ever increasing yield for Canadian listings. As new apartments are listed, Rent Jungle will also record the pricing data in order to provide sequential trends for Canadian rental averages over time. CEO John Pastor remarked “We are pleased to offer our services to our friendly neighbors to the north, and we hope to continue our lasting relationships between our real estate and rental economies.”

About Rent Jungle

Rent Jungle (www.rentjungle.com), re-launched in October, 2010, is the most comprehensive rental listing site on the web. It works much like other search engines in that it scours the internet to amass apartment listings from a variety of sites. Unlike other search engines, Rent Jungle specializes only in apartments and rental housing. Users can search, sort and bookmark individual listings, as well as save them for later use. Users can also view listings on an innovative user-friendly map, powered by Google. Rent Jungle was founded to fill a void in the online real estate market by offering a simple, easy-to-use directory and one-stop-shop destination for renters.
