1. Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square located about 30 minutes outside of Chicago proper, is a perfect place for families to settle in. With tons of amazing parks to explore nearby like Challenger Park and Winnemac Park, your kids will never feel cooped up indoors. Lincoln Square is located a quick 15-minute drive away from Wrigley Field so, your kids can grow up with a love for baseball. In the summers, Montrose Beach and the green areas surrounding it are perfect places to take the kids for picnics and walks. Nearby Davis Theater might seem old and outdated but the simplicity is what makes it perfect. During the summer they offer $2 family classics! All you need is popcorn and you’re set.

2. Edgewater

Just north of Lincoln Square, you’ll find Edgewater. Great for families with children of every age, this neighborhood boasts a good number of quality schools from elementary to high school and even Catholic and Jewish schools. Nearby you’ll find two theaters, Redtwist Theatre and City Lit Theater. Each has a number of plays and performances for families to attend. From anywhere in Edgewater, you can reach the beach within 10 minutes so, your summers will be filled with sand and sunshine!

3. Roscoe Village

Roscoe Village is rife with young families with children and dogs bustling about. Fellger Park is perfect for parents with very small tots as they’ve got miniaturized play equipment and even a splash zone to cool off in during the hot months. Wonderland Activities Center offers classes and programming for preschoolers and toddlers to learn through art, music, games, and play. Roscoe Village is home to the award winning Audubon Elementary School as well as other schools from elementary to a college prep school. With all of the resources available, Roscoe Village is perfect for families with children of any age.
