Top Neighborhoods

Detroit Shoreway is Cleveland's retail hub and a vital neighborhood, that resides on the four corners of Detroit Avenue. The neighborhood is centered around Gordon Square, which is planfully becoming the cultural and artistic center for the residents on the west side of Cleveland. A great deal of the infrastructure of the Detroit Shoreway is being renovated. The idea is for Detroit Shoreway to be not only pedestrian friendly but also transit friendly for greater accessibility.

Tremont is located just south of downtown Cleveland, and is one of the city's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. The area is centered on Lincoln Park; a large green area lined with restored Victorian homes, trendy restaurants and historic churches. Housing in Tremont ranges from luxury condos to simple frame houses. Tremont has a host of restaurants offering varied cuisines from the exquisite to the kind that warms the soul. Shaker Square located in Cleveland at the edge of Shaker Heights, Shaker Square is a diverse and historic neighborhood. Shaker Square was started by the Van Sweringen brothers in 1922. The centerpiece Shaker Square is an octagonal shopping district by the same name. This Ohio shopping Mecca is filled with restaurants, stores, and services. As interesting today as it was in the 1920s, Shaker Square continues to attract residents, shoppers, and artists. The Shaker Square area has over 4000 rental units and 1500 single and two-family homes. Housing ranges from the architecturally wonderful Moreland Courts recently converted to condominium buildings to the modern Larchmere Boulevard. Shaker Square is the oldest planned shopping district in the state and the second oldest in the nation.

Downtown is the epicenter of business, government and entertainment in Cleveland. The theatre district also calls downtown home. There are a number of mixed use areas in downtown. The numbers of available lofts, condominiums, and apartments in the Warehouse District and other mixed use areas have consistently been on the rise since 2000. There are a host of restaurants, trendy shops, bars and nightclubs in the downtown area to keep the residents entertained.
