Rochester is the 3rd largest city in New York and is the county seat in Monroe County. Located south of Lake Ontario, Rochester is home to the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Rochester. Top Neighborhoods

Downtown Rochester is the largest economic center in Western New York. Over 50,000 people work in the downtown area with more than 4,000 units of housing located there. Downtown is a very popular place to live, and in recent history, new condominiums were developed. The housing stock is considered prime and the vacancy rate is roughly 5%. As with many downtown areas, there are great shops, stores, restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment spots for residents and visitors to choose from. One of the most popular downtown attractions is the Strong National Museum of Play; an interactive center for the study of play. Public transportation is easily accessed in the downtown area.

Charlotte is home to the Port of Rochester, and is located at the mouth of the Genesee River. With a history as a port for international trade, Charlotte was destined to become a major industrialized city. However, trade was interrupted by the War of 1812. Ontario Beach Park is a part of the Charlotte community. Upper Monroe is a neighborhood located within very close proximity to downtown Rochester. Upper Monroe is a relatively large residential area with more than 1400 households in the community. Cobbs Hill Park is an intricate part of the Upper Monroe community and provides athletic fields, tennis courts, and a beautiful reservoir for the residents of Upper Monroe to enjoy.
